On her Instagram account, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez posted a photo of husband Ogie’s original writing of “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw”. The song was first used for Regine Velasquez and Robin Padilla’s movie together with the same title.
The movie was directed by Joyce E. Bernal. The movie was the first project where Regine and Robin worked together. It was also the first time Robin did a romantic comedy genre since his Viva Films’ drama action movies.

The song was created by Ogie Alcasid within a day during his first wife Michelle Van Eimeren’s pregnancy.
