On his Instagram account, Ogie Diaz reposted a photo of a tentative assessment sheet from the Bureau of Customs (BOC). In the said assessment sheet, it was said that the total tax of a certain Gucci shoulder bag from London is 15,959 pesos.
In his post, he questions the imposing of large tax of Bureau of Customs on ‘balikbayan’ packages from working Filipinos abroad.
He captioned the photo with:
“Padalang GUCCI bag from London. Binuwisan ng almost 16k pesos. Nakakalokah talaga ang Bureau of Customs! Pati sa mga padala ng OFWs, nakikihati pa! Ano na ba nangyayari sa bayan natin? Nasa tuwid na daan pa ba tayo? #Repost”
