Despite critics expecting that MMFF 2016 would be a flop, the MMFF EXECOM announced that they have achieved their expected goal for the first day of the film festival, saying that “You cannot put a price at something which the future generations of Filipinos will find priceless and ageless” on their Facebook page.
MMFF 2016 also revealed the top four earners – in alphabetical order – of the annual event:
