Catriona has been a crowd favorite for this year’s Binibining Pilipinas.
Mariel’s fellow beauty queens Miss Intercontinental 2017 first runner-up Katarina Rodriguez and Miss Grand International 2017 Elizabeth Clenci defended the actress by posting on their respective social media accounts.
Katarina posted to her Twitter a photo screenshot and tweeted, “Hi everyone, let’s remember to keep kindness and peace especially in something that should be fun for us all. 🙏🏼”

Elizabeth took to Instagram her side on defending Mariel saying that she is the “most kind hearted” and “sweet soul you will ever meet”.
Mariel was joyed by this and thanked her fellow queens on her Instagram story for their efforts and kindness.
