“Ma’ Rosa” to be pulled out from cinemas?

Seems like trouble is stirring for ‘Ma’ Rosa.’ Brillante Mendoza’s film is experiencing the same struggle as Jerrold Tarog’s ‘Heneral Luna.’

In a public Facebook post by the award-winning director, he wrote that ‘Ma’ Rosa’ might be pulled out of Philippine theaters because of low audience turnout.

“I would like to personally thank everyone who watched our film Ma’ Rosa. We are grateful with your support and positive reviews. However, we are on a brink of being pulled out in some cinemas due to the lack of audience,” Brillante wrote.

Last year, the film ‘Heneral Luna’ was also threatened to be pulled out from theaters for the same reason. However, the film survived in theaters for several more weeks because of public outcry.

Brillante appealed to the Filipino masses to support the film and watch it on theaters while it is still being screened.

“Therefore, I am urging everyone, especially those who haven’t seen the film to please watch Ma’ Rosa.Still showing in select theaters,” the director said.
