Actress Lovi Poe was chosen to portray the character of Gregoria de Jesus in the planned biopic independent movie entitled “Lakambini (Woman Leader)”.
Gregoria is a historic character that also led a revolution against the Spanish colonization together with her husband, Katipunan founder, Andres Bonifacio.
Lovi will star in the film alongside actors Rocco Nacino and Paulo Avelino, Rocco will portray Gregoria’s first husband, Andres, while Paulo will be Julio Nakpil, the heroine’s second husband.

In an Instagram post, Lovi took the opportunity to share with her fans how happy she is to be working with her two favorite men.
The film is based on the Palanca-winning script of Rody Vera and has gained the support of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW).
