Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado issued an apology for mistakenly tweeting that the former first lady and now Cong. Imelda Romualdez Marcos has passed away. Lani made the post Monday (May 8, 2017).
Lani already deleted her original tweet which she said: “Our condolences to the Marcos Family. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with Cong. Imelda Romualdez Marcos.”

Lani then posted her apology tweet which she later deleted as well – “I would like to apologize for my tweets which I have erased. I received news break message informing the public about Mrs. Marcos.”
