Kapamilya R&B singer KZ Tandingan revealed that she is considering the idea of dropping her last name as she launches her new screen name in the coming months.
Through an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday (March 17, 2016) in a press conference for the upcoming 2016 Himig Handog songwriting competition, the Kapamilya singer shared that she plans on letting go of her last name and go by the screen name “KZ.”

When asked what made her change her current screen name and drop her family name, KZ explained that she just wants to make it easier for her fans and supporters to remember and avoid mispronouncing her name.
“Pinag-usapan namin with my management… Siguro mas madali lang tandaan ng mga tao na KZ nalang. I just want to make it easier for people. Kasi minsan nami-mispronounce nila ‘yung family name ko so mas okay na KZ na lang. Kasi hindi ba, hindi siya madaling i-pronounce? Minsan, mali pa ‘yung spelling.”
