Actress KC Concepcion received the Special Humanitarian Award at the 5th Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York (TOFA-NY) Awards for her humanitarian act.
KC was recognized for her efforts to fight hunger with UN World Food Programme.
On her Instagram account, KC posted a photo wearing a Filpiniana dress with the following caption:
“Studying in Boston for 7th grade, we took a field trip to New York by bus, 3 hours away. I remember seeing the U.N. Headquarters for the first time & seeing so many flags waving in thé air. I thought, one day, I’m coming back here. And exactly 10 years later, at 22, my dream came true through the U.N. World Food Programme (W.F.P.) to be surrounded by real-life heroes is humbling, empowering, inspiring. Thank you #TOFA for recognizing our efforts to fight for #ZeroHunger everyday of our lives.
