Everything started out as a joke, but the joke may soon become a reality. Actress and TV host Karla Estrada is hopeful that she will get to play a superhero someday – not just any superhero, but she will be ‘Barna.’
‘Barna’ is the joke given by Vice Ganda to Karla – a combination of Barney and Darna. The joke started during “Your Face Sounds Familiar” when Karla was wearing a violet gown.

In a report by ABS-CBN nightly program Tonight with Boy Abunda’, Karla said she is excited to do the project if given the chance:
“Sana matupad this year. Sana magawa this year kasi kailangan habang fresh pa lahat ng ideas for that,” said Karla. “Lahat gustong mag-superhero, pero nung nalaman kong hindi ko na siya maa-achieve, okay na ako si Barna,” added Karla.
