John Lloyd Cruz says “Hindi venue ang MMFF para pagkakitaan”

After weeks of keeping mum, actor-producer John Lloyd Cruz finally expressed his sentiments on the controversial disqualification of their 2015 MMFF official entry “Honor Thy Father” on the Best Picture category.

In an interview on ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’, John Lloyd finally explained his stand towards the disqualification of his self-produced film. In addition, John Lloyd also attended a congressional hearing in hopes to make a reform with the Annual Metro Manila Film Festival.

“I cant’t wait to see it. It’s about time na gawin nating totoong festival ang MMFF hindi siya parang venue para lang pagkakitaan. Diba? Ibalik natin yung pnahon noon na pinapalabas natin yung mga importanteng pelikula,” said John Lloyd.

When John Lloyd was asked if he will still continue to produce films in the future, the actor explained,

“Siyempre. Ito ‘yung mundo na ginagalawan namin, importante ‘to sa atin. Importante sa kultura ng Pilipinas. Sana lang makita siya at mabigyan ng halaga. Ang tao naman pagka naman nalalaman nila kung ano ang halaga ng isang bagay niyayakap naman eh.”
