Joan Rivers Dies Peacefully

Comedian Joan Rivers at the age of 81 died on Thursday in a New York hospital a week after being in Intensive Care Unit , the international star’s heart stopped during an outpatient medical procedure.

Joan Rivers suffered cardiac arrest during a procedure on her vocal cords at a Manhattan clinic last August 28, 2014 after that she was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was put on life support.

Her only daughter, Melissa Rivers shared that her mother died peacefully.

“My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement.

Recently Joan Rivers was the host of cable television channel E!’s “Fashion Police,” commenting on the unfortunate red carpet choices of Hollywood celebrities.

People who love the comedian dearly, fellow celebrities and fans around the world showed their sadness through the social media page Tweeter.

Jimmy Kimmel tweeted, “We lost a great one in @Joan-Rivers – she was funny all the way to the end.”

Talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, known for her funny side tweeted “Joan Rivers will always be a pioneer. She paved the way for a lot of comedians, I’m very sad she’s gone.”
