Jessy Mendiola clarified that her recent Instagram posts has nothing to do with the selection of the next ‘Darna’ but admitted that she is flattered that her name is being considered or mentioned to play the role of the iconic superhero.
In an interview with ABS-CBN TV Patrol, Jessy said she feels ‘kilig’ everytime people say that she should play the Darna role.
“I really get flattered. I don’t know. Kinikilig ako every time they put a comment about that. I have a lot of pictures [on Instagram], not only the bikini ones. Kahit quote nga lang ‘yung ilagay ko, ganun pa rin ang sinasabi. Nakakatuwa lang na people are really going out of their way just to comment, or just to put something about Darna. Thank you. I’m really flattered,” Jessy said.
When asked how she will prepare in case she will be chosen as the next Darna, the actress said:
“I think anyone, kahit hindi ako ang mapili, kung gagawin mo ang role na ‘yun, you’re supposed to be ready for all the bashing also and ‘yung mga hindi nag-a-agree na you should portray the role. If ever you get chosen also, I think you have to undergo proper training.” said Jessy.
