Jasmine Curtis-Smith wins Best Actress for “Baka Bukas” role

Jasmine Curtis-Smith nabbed the best actress award for her lesbian role in “Baka Bukas” at the 2016 Cinema One Originals Film Festival awards, November 20, 2016.

Curtis-Smith was teary-eyed when she appeared on the stage to receive her award and gave an empowering speech to the LGBT group.

She beat out competition from Shaina Magdayao (Lily), Natalie Hart (Tisay), and Peewee O’Hara (Si Magdalola at ang mga Gago).

Other winners for the night were Rocky Salumbides who took home the best actor award for the horror film “Lily.” Natileigh Sitoy won best supporting actress and Jameson Blake won best supporting actor.
