Apart from being his on-screen partner, Nadine Lustre found a refuge in the presence of James Reid during her trying times. Being tagged as this generation’s “hottest pair”, JaDine made sure not to limit their connection as an on-screen couple alone.
In an interview with TV Patrol last Tuesday (January 19, 2016), Nadine shared that her grandmother recently passed away, while her mom underwent an operation and was hospitalized. Saddened by the series of unfortunate events in her life, James stood by Nadine’s side to commiserate with the young actress.

“My mom, well she’s recovering. Nag-eenjoy po siya with all the stories in San Francisco, ganiyan. ‘Yung mga nangyari dun siya nag-eenjoy. That’s what she likes. So, nagkukuwento ako sa kaniya. We weren’t able to mourn especially me. ‘Cause walang time. Well it’s weird pero walang time to mourn ’cause I’m always working.”
