Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez spoke for the first time regarding her infamous experience during the 2015 Miss Universe pageant. Host Steve Harvey mmistakenly announced Ariadna as the winner when in fact the real winner is Miss Philippines – Pia Wurtzbach.
Ariadna Gutierrez told Colombia’s W radio that she finds the incident very humiliating and injustice was done to her and to her country.
“It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Columbia but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium,” said Ariadna.
Ariadna also added that she thought everything was just a joke.
Rumors about the entire pageant being rigged to gain high ratings was also raised and Ariadna said “If that was the goal, they succeeded.”
