Solar Sports united three of the largest network in the Philippines to bring the ‘Battle for Greatness’ boxing match which is the much awaited fight between boxing champions Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
President of Solar Sports Wilson Tieng announced this news last March 26, 2015 at the Forum in Solaire.
“This is going to be an enormous sports coverage, yet unseen in Philippine broadcasting because for the first time ever, we are combining the broadcast might of the country’s leading sports channel, Solar sports, and the free-to-air TV giants, ABS-CBN, GMA 7 and TV5,” Wilson Tieng said.

ABS-CBN Head of Integrated Sports Dino Laurena; Vincent “Chot” Reyes and Oscar Reyes of TV5; GMA-7 executive Vice President Felipe Yalong and GMA Radio head Mike Enriquez; and SM Leisure and Entertainment President Ed Tejerero were also present during the announcement.
Meanwhile, Manny, through a video chat, sent his message of gratitude to the network giants for their unity and effort just to bring the fight to all his Filipino supporters.
