With its star studded cast, the only romantic comedy film entry to the upcoming 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival, ‘English Only Please’ gives a light approach of how characters finds and learn the ups and downs of falling in love.
Last December 2, 2014, the cast and director of the said film held a press conference at the Max’s Restaurant, Scout Tuazon, Morato Quezon City.
Jennylyn Mercado, Derek Ramsay, Kean Cipriano and Cai Cortez shared their experiences while filming the said film.
“I have never done rom com [romantic comedy], so I was like, this is good for me to test my versatility as an actor” Derek said.
He also said that when the movie was offered to him and knew that Jennylyn will be his partner, he was pleased because he believes that Jennylyn was a good choice for the role.
While Jennylyn said “It has been ten years that I am slapped and battered during my previous roles, [reading the script of English Only Please] I find it exciting”.
Kean of Callalily also shared that when he was considered as a part of the film, he was grateful for the trust of the director, the producers and the writers because for him, they see each cast as an instrument for the story to come out of life.
Upcoming artist Cai Cortez plays the best friend of Jennylyn’s character. Just like what the other cast said, Cai felt really happy upon doing the film because it offers a different kind of love story and her role according to her is pretty exciting.
During the press conference, you can see how well the cast bonded for just like in the film; you can feel the love, the friendship, the fun and all the laughter it could bring.
‘English Only Please’ is directed by Dan Villegas and will open on December 25, 2014.
