Doris Bigornia breaks her silence regarding concert incident

Mutya ng Masa and ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia issued a statement regarding an incident involving her and her family during the recent concert of the band “The Script” last April 17, 2015 at SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The incident started when a certain Richard Lim posted a story on Facebook with a title “The Dark Side of Doris Bigornia” alleging that Doris and her family blocked their view and then an argument ensued.

Here is a portion of Richards narration on Facebook:

“The concert was a seated concert but to my surprise when the artists came out Doris Bigornia and her daughter Nikki Bigornia run straight in front covering our view which initiated the others to rush forward too (since she is a “celebrity” they assumed it was ok). The event bouncers instructed them to go back to their seats explaining to them that it was a seated concert but instead of seating down, she shove off the bouncers and didn’t mind them.

After that futile argument, I didn’t see the point of continuing the conversation because she wasn’t apologetic for what she did, the son was telling me to f**k off and the daughter was cursing me in front of thousands of people still inside the Arena as if I was at fault.”

And as they all say, there is always two sides of the story. Doris broke her silence about the issue and released a statement via her Facebook page:

“Today, I am breaking my silence to air my side and to set the record straight on an article posted on Facebook by Mr. Richard Lim complaining about my behavior while watching a rock concert by The Script last Friday.

When The Script came out on stage, many among the audience stood up and welcomed the band. Like them and many others, my daughter and I rushed to the front or the mosh pit to get close to our favorite band, which is typical in all rock concerts. I apologize to Mr. Lim if our actions caused any inconvenience or upset him and his son in any way. It was certainly not our intention to do so.

However, it is not true that I made a harsh statement when Lim complained that his son was hyperventilating. Knowing the pain of losing a loved one, I would never have uttered such an insensitive statement.

After the concert, my children and I were happily talking about how much we enjoyed the show when Mr. Lim came and confronted us. When Mr. Lim said hurtful words to my children, I had to step in. My maternal instincts took over. That argument should not have taken place.”
