Direk Wenn remains hopeful that his friendship with Ai-Ai will not be affected by the issues concerning their MMFF entries.
“Sana hindi umabot sa ganun kasi ano ‘to, e, showbiz ito na, at the end of the day, kami-kami lang din ang magkikita, maliit lang din naman ito. Sana huwag kasi kung gaano yung pinagsamahan namin nina Ai-Ai ay hindi ko alam kung anong mga sentiments niya against ABS-CBN and Star Cinema. Sana kami hindi masira o madamay yung aming friendship.”
The director also clarified the “Beauty and the Bestie’s” side about the highest-grossing film in the festival. He affirmed that his film is currently leading the race. In fact, the director mentioned that his film is now named as Philippines’ highest-grossing film of all time—surpassing the Star Cinema-produced record-holder “A Second Chance.”
“Na-surpass na namin yung Praybeyt Benjamin last year which is P456 M, at na-surpass na rin namin yung A Second Chance na P480 M, sa local.”
