Cherie Gil says sorry to Vice Ganda

Veteran actress Cherie Gil was one of the three judges of ‘It’s Showtime’s’ ‘Magpasikat Week’.

Vice Ganda together with Ryan Bang and children with special needs, gave a meaningful performance through a song composed by Vice that emphasized equality and acceptance.

Cherie then praised Vice for his talent and intelligence.

Turning emotional, the veteran actress went on and apologized to Vice for her reaction to the controversial segment in his May 2013 concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

At that time, through her Twitter account, Cherie relayed a message to Vice stating “To Vice Ganda: you’re one of those scums of the earth. Shame on the Filipinos who laugh at such insensitivity and tactlessness.”

The veteran actress shared that part of the reason she accepted the invitation for her to be a judge was to get to know Vice Ganda.

“I realized that at the end of the day it all comes down to getting to know the person better and understanding every story that each person goes through. Today, I saw your authenticity and your honesty” Cherie said to Vice.

“Thank you, Vice Ganda, so much for letting me get to know you today in the deepest, more real sense, in your most honest being, and for letting me get to know you as a person through that song” Cherie added.
