The hashtag #APEChottie went viral upon the arrival of Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the 2015 APEC Summit in Manila.
On an Instagram post by GMA News on November 20, 2015, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau reacted on the sudden hype of the hashtag #APEChottie. Several polls have been circulating on social media on who will be the ultimate APEC hottie.
Through a photo message, GMA News quoted the Prime Minister’s reaction saying,
“I had to learn to set aside positive impressions that weren’t grounded in reality. So throughout my life, I have focused on what I have to do and the substance of what I put forward. And that has left me both grounded and able to focus regardless of perceptions.”
