In a series of tweets last July 8, actress Andi Eigenmann defends her mom’s recent triumph at the Cannes Film Festival (Festival de Cannes). While she did not reveal the identity of her mother’s detractor, Andi definitely crushed the hater’s comments.
“Naisip ko sanang mangbara. Kaso naisip ko rin, wala naman dating sa amin yung opinion mo dahil hindi ka naman naging best actress sa Cannes,” Andi wrote to start the series of tweets.

The actress emphasized that her mom’s Cannes win was because the jurors thought Jaclyn gave an exceptional performance in ‘Ma’Rosa.’ “My mom won best actress in this year’s Cannes Film Festival because the jurors said so. Juror’s whose knowledge in the art of cinema is far more substantial than yours. These juror’s choose awardees depending on how exceptional their performances were,” Andi tweeted.
Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose made international headlines last May 2016 when she bagged the Best Actress award (Prix d’interprétation Féminine) for her role in Brillante Mendoza’s film ‘Ma’Rosa.’
