Upon learning that the former young actor Jiro Manio was wandering at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for four days and people are providing him with food and clothes, the Box Office Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas has been vocal about helping her “anak-anakan”.
She has been constantly sharing updates on Jiro’s condition. With this, people could not help but question her true intentions with regard in helping Jiro. There were speculations that she was allegedly using the former young actor’s condition to gain popularity.

In an interview with the entertainment site PEP.ph, the Box Office Comedy Queen said, “Pati pagtulong ko, binibigyan nila ng isyu. Sabi nga nila, damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Unang-una, sinasabi nila na, tumutulong ako dahil gusto kong magpasikat? Hello? Dyusko, magpaandar lang ako ng outfit ko, sikat na ako, e! Dadaanin ko pa ba doon?”
Ai-Ai also clarified that she’s going to Japan for vacation purposes and it was planned long ago. However, she made a promise to Jiro to help him meet his biological father.
She said, “Ngayon lang matutuloy kasama ko yung mga tao ko. Pero pinahanap ko talaga ang father niya [Jiro] kahit nandito ako. Inayos ko na yun. Pangako ko sa kanya yun. Sabi ko, ‘Anak, pagaling ka, kasi pupunta tayo sa Japan.’ Alam ko kung saan nakatira.”
