Gary stressed that the audience still decides who has the real talent, imposing that such reality based competitions like “The Voice PH” and “Your Face Sounds Familiar” are reaching high ratings which means that the audience still supports real and pure talent.

“I think ang mga tao mismo, they would know kung sino ang magagaling na singer. But my heart goes out to the singers na hindi nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na mag-shine and there are many,” Gary explained.

Meanwhile in a separate interview with DZMM, Vice Ganda and Lea Salonga was asked on their take regarding the issue, Vice is just disappointed with the use of the word ‘hate’ explaining that there is no need to hate people.

“Pwede naman sigurong hindi mo magustahan ang sistema pero huwag namang i-hate,” Vice said.

Vice also added that even though he is not a professional singer but with great lengths and perseverance, he was able to make an album, “Libre namang mangarap e sa pagtupad ng mga pangarap natin, hindi naman natin sinabi sa mga totoong singer na hindi na, ‘Hindi na kayo pwedeng gumawa, kami na lang.’ Wala naman tayong ipinagkait sa lahat, kinuha lang din natin yung karapatan natin,” the comedian said.

Meanwhile Lea explained that sometimes some known singers, like herself needs to lip-sync because of valid reasons such as getting sick.

She also shared on Twitter that non-singers lip syncing on TV isn’t anything new.

But to understand more on why producers sometimes make album for “non-singers”, Lea explained that the industry is a matter of supply and demand, she understands that these “non-singers” are in demand and their fans supports them by buying their album.
